A cautionary dream for the church about attractive-sounding distortions

Many are unaware of it, but under the guise of love, grace and tolerance, certain doctrines are trying to creep in that are contrary to the sound teaching of the gospel. These doctrines sound attractive and even biblical, but they involve a subtle distortion of the truth.

A Dream of Warning

Recently I had a dream. In this dream, I was preaching. As I wanted to open the Word to read Scripture, I could not find the text I was looking for. To my surprise, I saw that it was a “Bible” – but filled with other books. Not the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke or John, but names I did not know. These books had been written by other people, with their own teachings and message.

The explanation was clear: there is a spirit at work trying to rewrite the Word of God. Another “Bible” is being presented to us – one filled with human ideas, false teachings and misleading messages. In the dream, I symbolized preachers, teachers and leaders – and the message was a warning: there are influences trying to tempt proclaimers of the Word to deviate from the truth. But we will not go along with this error.

A Time of Twisting

In recent years we have seen increasing influence of Hyper-Grace, Universalism, and another dangerous trend: undermining the authority of God’s Word. Some teach that God would also work “outside His Word,” which opens the door to relativism, personal truth, and a faith separate from its foundation.

Hyper-Grace is a theology that so emphasizes the grace of God that hardly any room is left for repentance, sanctification or accountability.

Universalism (all-conciliation) goes one step further. This doctrine holds that ultimately everyone will be saved, regardless of faith, conversion or relationship with Jesus. It makes the death of Christ universally applicable even to those who reject Him – saying, “Everyone is already a child of God, only they don’t know it yet.”

Distinction in a Time of Confusion

Discussing these topics sometimes provokes resistance, but discernment is essential especially in these times. Some say, “Let everyone do their thing,” but that is not Biblical. When there is demonstrable false teaching, the Bible calls us to recognize, refute and avoid it (2 Timothy 4:3-4; 1 John 4:1).

We don’t have to agree on everything, but we do when it comes to the fundamentals of faith – as described in Hebrews 6:1-3. Fundamental truths such as:

There is only one way to God, the Trinity, heaven and hell, faith, repentance, devotion, obedience, healing, deliverance, restoration – and more such core issues!

For us, the Bible is not just an inspirational book, but the living Word of God. It reveals Jesus, teaches God’s principles and determines our life direction.

Unbiblical doctrine is trying to enter the church, and it is our job not to let that happen. Let us not sleep while the enemy sows. To remain silent is to consent – and we are not going to do that. Because if the voice of truth is silent, the lie will continue to reign.

No Hyper-Grace. No All-Conciliation. And God’s Word is not just an inspirational book – it is the Eternal, Unadulterated and Undefiled Word of God. He will never do anything contrary to it.

The truth of God is not an opinion. It is an anchor and the foundation on which we build.

Churches, be vigilant! Do not allow speakers to preach this doctrine (subtly), for they have lost track. They preach salvation without repentance and grace without truth (John 1:14).

Know God’s Word, and have discernment!

A Political Spirit

We must also be aware of another insidious influence: a political spirit that seeks to exert influence within the church. This spirit aims to muzzle speakers, to replace truth with diplomacy, and to replace sharp spiritual truth with vague generalities.

This spirit wants us to be silent for the sake of “unity,” when in reality it is about control and compromise. But the voice of truth cannot and must not be stifled.

It is for this reason that God is establishing “Voices of Truth” at this time.

Men and women who do not remain silent, but speak. Who clearly and powerfully proclaim the truth of the Word – in love, but without compromise. They bring clarity where there is confusion. They bring fire where lukewarmness reigns.

They are watchmen and reformers, led by the Spirit, rooted in the Word.

Their message is clear:

As long as un-Biblical teaching is proclaimed, we will refute that teaching Biblically.

Dear brothers and sisters, the truth of God is not an opinion. It is a foundation that does not bend with the zeitgeist, but is eternally fixed.

Therefore, the Spirit says today:

Rise Up, Voices of Truth!

Stand up. Be courageous. Speak – and don’t be muzzled.

For if the voice of truth is silent, the lie will continue to rule.
